Shorts must be no shorter than 3” above the knee. Running shorts may only be worn if solid, opaque black leggings are worn underneath.     COLD WEATHER There are no restrictions on the type of heavy jacket or coat to be worn over the official St. Dominic School sweatshirt or jacket.  (PK and K students are not permitted to wear hoods.) However, students are reminded that in mild weather, when only one over-garment is needed, only the St. Dominic sweatshirt, sweater or jacket should be worn. Only St. Dominic uniform sweatshirts or jackets should be worn inside the school buildings. Students have the option to wear the official St. Dominic knit hat.     HAIR STYLES When school begins and THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR, student hair styles should be suitable for the classroom. Boys’ hair must not touch the ears, eyebrows, or shirt collar. There should be no “wedge cuts” or shaving of the head. Hair should be no shorter than a #2 buzz cut. There should be no extreme differences in length, no designs of any kind shaved on the head, and no Mohawk styles, including shaved areas near the ears for boys and girls.    The use of substances to alter the color of the student’s hair is not acceptable.  This includes "highlighting." Hair color should be the student’s God-given natural color.     MAKE-UP AND JEWELRY Make-up, lipstick, fingernail polish and superfluous jewelry will not be allowed. Girls may wear small earrings – only one per ear in the ear lobe. Boys may not wear earrings. Boys and girls may wear a watch and a chain with a cross or medal.* Any smart/tech watches such as Apple Watches, Fit Bits, etc. are NOT permitted. *Pre-K and Kindergarten students are not permitted to wear necklaces of any sort or watches/bracelets.
